"fast light" probably wouldn't be a good idea because most apps based on FLTK (fast light toolkit) already have this prefix associated (flwriter for example).

I would also suggest staying away from numbers that are related to distribution size. What if you find that you need to take 60 megs or you only need 30 megs. You wouldn't want to change the name everytime you add or remove something.

How about this... It's going to be a small LAMP distribution, so what do you think of when you hear the words "small lamp"?

A couple that come to my mind are:

PenLight
FlashLight
PocketLight
NightLight
DimBulb.... Ok, maybe someone else will have better ideas...

You could say ibls with a soft "I" (as in Iguana ) instead of sharp I (like eye). Then it wouldn't sound like an apple product.

Ok, come up with a new idea for name, using femto (really small number, below micro, nano and pico)
femtoserv
femtolamp
femtoserve
femtoserver

Sounds quite good and nothing comes up in google for any of them (except femtoserver which has 3, but unrelated), i particularly like femtoserv or femtolamp.

I agree, there was already one vote for "other" before femtoserv was even brought up. That would make it 3 for femtoserv and 4 for IBLS.

how about atto, zepto or yocto (even smaller than femto), can anyone find fault with them, ie:

attoserv,
zeptoserv,
yoctoserv

i quite like any of those names. and google produces nothing for attoserv or zeptoserv and nothing of relavence for yoctoserv, any thoughts people?

that is a cool name, but spams.com exists, i dont know if this is a problem, .org does not exist, so that could be used (if a domain ever gets registered).

ico2, it's your server. Give it a name and go. If you wait on a 'popular' decision to come about from multiple individuals you'll be into your 10th release before you ever have a name!

People aren't going to want your server just for the name. They are going to want it because they crave a small server distro, regardless of what it's called. :cool:

Choose what makes you happy and move on.

i mean, come on, how are you gonna say IBLS?
EYE-BALLS?
AYE-BILLS?
EH-BLESS?
go for something legible. at least GNU can be pronouced (somewhat) as "KNEW"
