In the past, the future for freelance reportage photojournalists, was; digital camera, palm pc (CF port,) & WAP phone.

My first stab at this was many years ago, HP Jornada 420. CF slot was requisite.

Now the newer palm pc's (Jornada's now IPAQ,) you can 'upgrade' the OS, ROM.

Is, Familiar Linux, the leader of embedded?

Look. If you are going to post, try to have a point to make, question to ask, interesting thing to point our, or at least try to be understandable.

I have read your post several times and still have no idea as to the point you are trying to make.

Point please?

They are working with similar parameters; processing power, memory, storage.
They're putting out 2 desktops, GPE, and, OPIE.
As they evolve they will prioritize what applications are primary.

I just thought that there were parallels which could be quite interesting & inspiring & stimulating.

I'm sorry I can be a bit cloudy.
