Am enjoying sylpheed, it is easy to setup. Currently it defaults to removing the messages from the server. Picky point is that it would be better if we needed to select this option, but I have not forgotten about deselecting the setting yet.

I would like to see a text-based email program such as mutt included in DSL. DSL is excellent for travelling as one can run it in almost everything (& with dvorak kbd!). Works great! A text-based email would be useful for those times where X will not run for whatever reason; and mutt is fast, flexible enough and with sufficient features to be the email client of choice for many. The use of the same email client and the same browser (links hacked) in both text mode and while running X, makes switching between the two modes easier.

A tour of mutt with links can be found at < http://www.melonfire.com/community/columns/trog/article.php?id=98 >

Hi Randy, good call about Sylpheed not deleting mail by default.  I'll have to look into that, but the obstacle might be the way Sylpheed asks for critical information when laying out its structure for the first time.  I have to play with it and make sure I can leave a partial rc file and still have Sylpheed manage setup properly.

Regarding Mutt, I would like a text email client but it way too large to squeeze into DSL.
