Because of the computer savy-ness of the DSL programmers and the Qemu guys, DSL is the best OS ever.
My suggestion/question/problem:
Where I work we have people running XP, OS X.3, RedHat Linux, and whatever is on SGI's.  Could you smart people get together and make a DSL distro that would include EASY bootups for all these systems but still fit on a pen drive (256MB is okay) and use the same -hardisk? I want to be able to take "My Computer" anywhere.   Sorry if I'm asking a lot.

For XP and Red Hat,
your covered already with the embedded version..

No OSX/mac support , that would require a complete port
of everything from the kernel down..

SGI? no sgi ports in existing either that I'm aware of..

As long as you have a copy of QEMU that is capable of emulating an IBM PC compatible computer system, in theory it is possible.

You might be able to get a copy of the QEMU program that runs on a Mac or maybe even a SGI station.

But you will need to compile it yourself on those machines.

Finally, use the existing dsl-linux.sh script as a guideline for how to start up DSL from a Mac or SGI using a ported version of the QEMU program.

Visit the QEMU website for more information.

This < QEMU for Mac OS X > app will allow you to run DSL on a Mac using the same hard disk image files that work with QEMU on Windows and Linux.

Simply download the .dmg file on a Mac and when it opens drag the QEMU app to your memory stick. You should then be able to run QEMU from stick on any OS X Mac (though beware that performance on anything less than a fast G5 will leave a lot to be desired.

Since OSX uses Bash these days, you should be able to use the dsl-linux.sh directly.

Try it out.
