I think that the PS2 is not based on the Intel ix86/Pentium CPU family, so it will not run DSL.In theory, you could build a version of PS2 linux that looks and acts like DSL but it would be a major effort, I'm sure. Posted by nd4spdbh on Oct. 17 2005,02:46

It's certainly possibly to boot linux on a Playstation 2.... I don't pretend to be tech savvie, but it would be possible to make DSL boot on a PS2, though I have no idea what it would entail to adapt it to the system.< http://www.linuxdevcenter.com/pub/a/linux/2004/03/25/ps2_linux.html > The above article talks about the linux development kit for the PS2.... Yeah, you'd have to import it or find it on Ebay... Máire Posted by cbagger01 on Oct. 24 2005,03:21
Linux <> DSLDSL <> Linux You can run Linux natively on a PS2, a MAC, a SPARCStation, or an IBM mainframe. However, you cannot run DSL on them. That is because DSL is an ix86 based Linux distribution. Meaning that it will only run on computers that are based on the "IBM PC" computer architecture, IE: 486, Pentium, Celeron, Xeon, K6, Athlon, Duron, Sempron, etc |
