Hey i know people can boot dsl on xboxes but what about the ps2? they have a linux kit for it but if i could stick my little pen drive into one of the usb ports and boot from that it would be insane!!

I think that the PS2 is not based on the Intel ix86/Pentium CPU family, so it will not run DSL.In theory, you could build a version of PS2 linux that looks and acts like DSL but it would be a major effort, I'm sure.

ok that ends that... thats y ppl can boot it on an xbox... they use P3's for their processor.... time to go over to my friends house and boot linux on his xbox. will xbox run n e live cd of linux?

It's certainly possibly to boot linux on a Playstation 2.... I don't pretend to be tech savvie, but it would be possible to make DSL boot on a PS2, though I have no idea what it would entail to adapt it to the system.< http://www.linuxdevcenter.com/pub/a/linux/2004/03/25/ps2_linux.html >
The above article talks about the linux development kit for the PS2....

Only prob with that linux kit for the ps2 is that its not sold in North america any more

You can run Linux natively on a PS2, a MAC, a SPARCStation, or an IBM mainframe.
However, you cannot run DSL on them.
That is because DSL is an ix86 based Linux distribution.
Meaning that it will only run on computers that are based on the "IBM PC" computer architecture, IE: 486, Pentium, Celeron, Xeon, K6, Athlon, Duron, Sempron, etc
