Before anyone flames me for any reason (I can see plenty of reasons to do so), I would like to state what I would like to do.

1. Customize various livecds based on DSL (current version) using the extensions available. If I make any extensions, I will most likely try and have them contributed.

2. Sell "remasters" on ebay as remasters of DSL, with links on where one can download the iso and extensions to roll one's own livecd.

I will basically be offering a service, where I download the files, make the custom iso, and sell it on cd to fellow dialup users (I confess). I found it very difficult to download each and every extension, or even just the ones I wanted, so I imagine there must be others who are also frustrated.

I see no other way of getting the extensions, either on multi-cd or dvd. While I have noticed that DSL.org does sell sticks and such with DSL installed, I can see how that can be expensive. Hence I would not charge much for these cd remasters.

I would give credit to DSL.org and the extension makers, although the latter will be general because there are many contributors, but I would also not portray myself as a representative of DSL.org.

I want to know whether I can proceed or not because there may be copyrights on logos contained within the DSL iso that would prevent my actions. If there are exceptions like that, then I will try and remove them to make my remasters compliant, while still giving credit.

If there is anything anyone wants me to elaborate on, then feel free to ask questions. I would also understand if it was against the wishes of DSL.org for me to sell DSL remasters.

Thanks for reading.

As far as I am aware, there's nothing that stops you from selling DSL.  This has been previously discussed.
As a courtesy, however, I might suggest having a portion of the sale go towards the DSL team, eg. 50c per sale?  And if you advertise that you are doing so, you would receive less flack from people.  Even only a token gesture is better than no gesture at all.

That is actually a pretty good suggestion, especially if I go pro on this and make a nice cd case and such for each remaster. If I do end up going that route (looks more and more likely, especially if I can get the money for the printing supplies), then a portion of each sale would no doubt go to the DSL team. Thanks for the idea!

Anything else?

I have actually thought of doing the same. Maybe we/you/I could create a network of DSL resellers?
Just thinking....

Networking, lol. Perhaps. I have to get designs for different remasters made first.

I am also looking into labeling and such.

Some folks have beat you to it, I hope the team here sees some of the cash from it's sales.

Debian has a dedicated page for resellers, why not DSL resellers' page?

Go on and let us know, I think this is good for DSL.
