I have an IR remote for my HP laptop. The computer interpets the signals from the remote as buttons from a multimedia keyboard. Is there a program for windows that can allow me to use the extra buttons on the remote to launch or bring to focus various media programs?

A program for Windows or a program for DSL/Linux/X-windows (LIRC maybe)?
