I'm really starting to get into this mod thing. Take a look at my minihog itx box

Doobit, I appreciate your creations, they take me back to the late '70's home computers clubs.
It'd be nice if DSL run on the PPC , so we could build our micro-custom laptop on the EFIKA board:

Cool!!! It would be a nice touch if you could add some details about the hardware you used and how you are booting.  Do you use the USB drive to boot?

Yes, I should probably link back to the blue lunchbox because this one is basically the same.

Did you see the purchase requirement and price on those things? Click the "buy now" button....  yipes!

(Minimum order quantity is 50 units.)
EFIKA 5K2 (50 units)  $14,950.00
                                (€12750.00)

It would break down as $299.00 per board or so, and you "have to" get 50 units. :(

Torp,
That's a VGA TFT monitor designed for 12v for in-car use, mostly for GPS, I think. It also has an AV input and TV tuner, but I have not been able to get the TV tuner to actually pick up any stations. The next step with this will be to take the 12v power that I'm not using for a floppy drive and put a connector on it for the monitor. That will eliminate the need for the separate long wires going to the monitor. I will probably also put a 2.5 inch hard drive in it, or a CF-IDE adapter to eliminate the pen drive, although the pen drive works great with DSL on it.

I have a finished product at that price. I guess they have to pay for development somehow. VIA is supposed to be releasing their 64 bit mini-itx board soon. I hope it's cheaper than that.

I was not definitely thinking on doing any development now. Some other folks are doing that, see:

Wow, it looks like some pretty weak proposals got approved too! Maybe I could get approved for a lunchbox EFIKA that also doubles as an actual lunch box!  :p

Doobit, go for it, you are our frontrunner.
One day hpefully the Efika will be commoditized and we might buy it for a few dollars each.
