Dsl and slax. Strange mixture. Just thought I would mention this cause I was suprised at result and thought others might find this interesting.  I had installed on a partition  on my hd. dsl 2.0 and I made the mistake of deleting a opera uci in /home/dsl and the machine did not like it and forced me to pull plug to exit operating system. all sorts of error messages. I thought i would use this opportunity to try slax 5.0.6 on the partition. I left the install of 2.0 on hd and figured a hd install from slax would wipe it . It didn't. I got a cross between Slax and dsl. I got all my dsl icons accross the top and the slax logo and controls at the bottom. Emelfm even worked. It was very strange. I had to type root and toor. Then startx  through a series of flowing graphics and I came to the slax logo and desktop. It was pretty cool. Most icons didn't work but some did. I was very suprised as slax 5.0.6 is running the 2.6 kernal and dsl 2.0 was running 2.4.31. Marty

Intersing indeed...

Well, I don't think Slax is compiled with optimizations, so that makes sense... though the xtdesktop sticking in .xinit would certainly make things interesting.

I sort of had a simmilar effect on my desktop ; I have puppylinux on one partition and dsl on another ,
One time when trying to install the DSL NXclient while in puppy I chrooted into my dsl partition installed NX and when the screen did it ususal icon refresh I ended up with  DSL's desktop icons on my puupys desktop and I was able to click on them. it freaked me out seeing both sets of icons.
