Finally started using Sylpheed because of getting tired of waiting for Tbird to load(nothing against Tbird on more powerful machines its a great feature rich email client)
Anyway so at first I was disappointed, thinking ah man I cant see html mail (yeah i know real geeks dont use html mail, but most of my family are windoze eu's you get the pic) and I get alot of HTML mail from friends and family. So I'm goofin off with the sylpheed utility when like a blaze of light it comes down from the heavens that i can open up an html email using dillo or if its particularly bloated with code firefox...*gasp* is it true? speed AND beauty all in one slim little package...I'm hooked next thing you know i'm clickin the Attatchment Tab on the email, and Rclicking attatchments and opening with my favorite utilities for opening this thing or that thing and heres some examples of how YOUR commands should look(just incase your a noob to Linux, DSL, and or Sylpheed like i am)
Ok heres the directions:
1:>Click on the Attachments tab
2:>Choose the attachment to be viewed in this case were going to do an html document because it will be a common issue.
So you will see text/plain and text/html and possibly other attachments like image files etc..
3:> Right Click on the text/html attachment.
>choose: Open With
4:>

now it will be in your drop down choices here after
5:>Click OK
Heres some tips to remember, if your wanting to use a myDSL package app that you added to your system then give an absolute path to the utility, for instance if you want to use firefox 1.0.4 and if you used the tar.gz install of it for gtk2 then you'd likely find the command:

/mnt/hda5/opt/firefox-gtk2-1.0.4/firefox '%s'

or your path may vary but you get the idea.
You may want to open an image for viewing without having to save it to a folder first, then R-click the image from the attachments list and issue this command:

xzgv '%s'

the image will open in the xzgv image viewer for you.
Also don't neglect to put the

Code Sample

'%s'

at the end of your commands else it won't open the file your looking at.
This is by no means to be taken as a comprehensive guide, but should serve as a great primer to get a noob like me off the ground with less discouragement.
