DSM & DSL bootingForum: DSL Tips and Tricks Topic: DSM & DSL booting started by: artj12 Posted by artj12 on Feb. 11 2006,00:28
I just received my DSM, and I am looking forward to playing with it. Unfortunately, I'm in a laptop only environment, and I don't have an extra monitor lying around. Is there an quick way to modify the files so on the USB drive so it USB boots far enough to grab an IP address and I can get into it via SSH?

Change the DEFAULT append line in your syslinux.cfg fileadd "ssh" to the list of cheatcodes. You also might want to reduce the timeout value so that it stops waiting for keyboard feedback (the ENTER key) and quickly boots up with the default DSL settings. |
