Hi there,

i am looking for an older/other version on DSL, which is smaller. Without x and the apps which came with. As Slim as Possible. If there is an option to get such an version please let me know.

well, how about try something really small:
   Linux on a floppy ?
   Then take Tomsrtbt

thanks for the reply

i know that one, it has only 2.0 kernel. not enough .....
DSL without the Desktop-, and other non important stuff would be exactly what i need.

I  would propose you check Basic Linux - Really small, yet
with an X terminal.

i have tested it, x wont run on my machine, network device not supported ect.

You might also try BlueFlops. It comes on 2 floppies, has a newer kernal, handles my cardbus pcmcia nick just fine, runs on my HP 800CT with 32M of RAM and no CD. It even has a web browser that runs without X.
