Hi All,

I'm new to DSL, I noticed that for a usb pendrive to be mounted it has to be plugged in at start up.

Is there a way to have it plugged in after startup and recognised and have a drive icon on the desktop and if a user plugs it out it'll detect it and remove the drive icon?

Thanks for all your help in advance!

What DSL version are you using? I've had no problems pluging in after start, you just plug it in, then open the file manager and go to /mnt right click your drive and select mount. Make sure you unmount before you remove the usb drive or you'll screw it up. No there's no fancy icon that pops up, think small, DSL is linux as simple and uncluttered as you can get.

i am using 2.3, there is a small window on the lower right corner of the screen. that doesn't seem to show the usb is connected.

It dosen't show up there till after you mount it in /mnt.
