Im new to Linux, and i was needing to get .net to work on my work computer.  Permitions will not allow me to install .NET so i looked for an alternativeand i found < MONO >.  I have been wanting to use Linux for a while and i figured since DSL will run from my Flash Drive give it a try.  Problem, i have no idea were to start.

The first step is creating a device to run DSL from. I recommend starting with LiveCD. I know you said you wanted to install from flash drive, but
1) According to the wiki, you need to boot from LiveCD to install to usb pendrive
2) USB booting is a crap shoot.

So, if your work computer has a CD Drive:

1) Download DSL-3.01.iso:

2) Burn to CD.
3) Restart computer and boot from CD.
4) Install Mono. They have insatllation instructions on their website. You probably want the Linux x86 install, all distros.
