Ok. I:- boot dsl 3.0.1 CD with boot option "dsl toram 2" - mount -t auto /dev/hdc1 /mnt/hdc1 (2G ext2 partition) - mount -t auto /dev/hdc2 /mnt/hdc2 (2G ext2 partition) - type mkmydsl - set extension directory to /mnt/hdc1 - set iso file directory to /mnt/hdc2 - the script says "Copying DSL image for Remastering". O.k. that seemed to work. Theres stuff now in /mnt/hdc1 along with my samba.dsl extension. - No optional boot time parameters - Then it says "Now open another xterm or alternate console to check and/or copy autoload extensions to /mnt/hdc1. And your desired optional extensions to /dev/hdc1/optional. - Then it prompts, "When you are ready to begin creating the ISO, press O.K. - Then I press the Enter key on my keyboard. - Then I'm dumped out of the script to a shell prompt. No error message, no nothing. What am I missing here? Thanks. Posted by ducksfoot on July 06 2006,19:01
O.K. I guess I'm just a f-ing tard.Where your promted to "press OK", you have to actually type in a capital "O" and a capital "K", *then* press enter. sigh!! Too much time spent trying to figure THAT one out. How 'bout a simple "Press enter when your ready"?? Great distro though. Keep up the great work guys. Posted by mikshaw on July 07 2006,02:53
This is the prompt you're talking about, I assume? It does seem a little vague. I've seen similar prompts in other scripts, but they tend to be a little more specific, such as type "OK" and press enter, or something similar. If I remember correctly, Partition Magic has a specific capital O capital K confirmation for deleting/formating, but i can't recall whether or not it gives you a clue about the case-sensitivity beforehand |
