GkrellM IP addressForum: DSL Tips and Tricks Topic: GkrellM IP address started by: tturrisi Posted by tturrisi on Sep. 21 2006,12:55
DSL appears to have GkrellM running in upper right of desktop. If that is Gkrellm, how does it display the current dhcp ip address? I'm running Etch w/ Gkrellm and would like to implement that function.

It's not gkrellm, it's torsmo.

If you want to add torsmo to Debian Etch, you might be interested to know that (AFAIK) torsmo is no longer being developed. There's a 'forked' version called < conky >, which implements a few other features over and above torsmo - it's available for DSL (I'm using the .uci package), and quite fun to tinker around with if you like experimenting with config files ![]() You might find that conky isn't in the Etch repositories (I couldn't find a package for my Sarge box last month, and ended up compiling my own, which wasn't difficult), but YMMV. I finally got around to this, thanks. I installed Conky from Etch repository and set it up just how I want it. This is just what I was looking for! Thanks again. |
