I have stripped gnu-utils to be what it was meant to be.Having X stuff + fonts was causing much grief and seemingly needed by gtk2, which we now have newer Gtk2 extensions.

Wondering if mount utils etc have been removed? These were not needed - those in dsl's base are GNU anyway, not Busybox, and having these in gnuutills was breaking my loop-aes extension (which updates mount, umount, losetup, swapon, swapoff with patched gnu versions) Posted by Juanito on May 08 2008,11:55
Ah-ha, I'd never thought that gnu-utils could be replacing mount, umount, etc - perhaps this could explain in part why I had weird problems in compiling ntfsmount, etc... (the kernel version notwithstanding)

The issue of mount was brought up by jls. I removed them from gnu-utils see Site news topic for 4.3 and the change log for gnu-utils.dsl that I just posted here.
