Hi Everyone,
Not realising that someone else was working on compiling GPSDrive for DSL I have gone ahead and made one myself.  I have found my way through all of the library problems and it seems to run ok if I start it from the command line.

Once I sort out the icon problems I'll figure out what is the best way to make it available to other users here.  Bear in mind that gpsdrive is under fairly heavy development and changes are being made to it every day.

When testing from the DSL boot cd  the program package I've build  installs and runs ok from the command line but when I run it from the desk top icon strange things start to happen.

If I leave Emelfm open after I install GPSDrive the desktop icon works.  Once I close emelfm GPSDrive  no longer starts at all.  If I reopen Emelfm and reinstall gpsdrive  bingo it is working again until I close Emelfm.  (I'm sure you get the idea)

I even tried closing Emelfm while GPSDrive was running and as soon as I clicked on anything in GPSDrive it crashed with out any error messages.

I rebooted DSL from the cd and just installed GTK2-0705.dsl and tried all the existing desktop icons and some of them stopped working also.
FLwriter, Xpaint, VNCVeiwer and axyFTP.

From what I can see the GTK2 package brakes some of the standard Icons as well as the one I created for GPSDrive.

Has anyone seen this before?

Any ideas what I can do about it?

David
