They do that when the extension is downloading, and until it finishes and loads, it will remain unresponsive.

Personally, I just go to the mydsl page on the download site.

1. Make sure your network is up.
2. Try a different mirror.

The network was up.  I don't know another mirror is there a list of them?

It seems like it worked better as root at least it didn't white out just won'tinstall anything.

I never got to the download part as soon as I press the mydsl button it went white and stayed that way

it usally takes a little while to pull the list down, depending on the speed of your computer, it could be a couple of seconds or minutes. you can go to the site and just download and save it yourself.-> < http://dsl.thegeekery.com/mydsl/ >

It appers that the main site-> < ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/damnsmall/mydsl/ >
is having problems i couldn't get through.you can look here for other sites till you find one that works -> < http://damnsmalllinux.org/download.html >

Ok going to try to download this myself but I can see I need this gtk2-xxxxx.dsl library where do you get that it seems to be required for everything and I don't see it on the site?

You can't use mydsl-load when you are root - that's why it didn't do anything.

That extension is usually only required for gtk2 apps, and can be found under the same 'gtk2' section, such as gtk2-0705.dsl

all the mirrors are super slow worse then 56 k.  How do you install these once you download them are they .deb packages?

depending on what version of DSL your using the the loader is either in emelfm or in the myDSL icon or you can command line it> mydsl-load xxx.dsl

I can't seem to get this gtk2 to work

I installed it but I get an error message that there was an error in the creation of /etc/pango/pangomodules

I can't get any of the GTK2 apps to run and those are the most needed.

Anyone have this issue before?
