Hello,

When using any gtk2 application with DSL 3.0 I've got error related to lib_pango saying :

there was an error in the creation of :
/etc/pango/pango.modules

(xchat:333): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_ref: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

Pango-error **: file shape.c: line 75 (pango_shape): assertion failed: (flyphs -> num_glyphs > 0)
aborting....

Hello,

Did you select "Update_to_GTK2" in the MyDSL menu after loading the gtk2-0705.dsl or gtk-0705.unc extension before you tried to run a GTK2 application?

Thanks for the tip nym1.

Any chance that this can be added to the info/description - I'm sure others have floundered with this too.

It is already in the info for the .unc version.
I have added it to the .dsl version.

Where do you find this topic 'Update_to_GTK2' on the MyDSL Menu ? I've got only Apps / Games / gtk2 / Multimedia / net / system / themes / uci / wm apps :(

No because I don't see any Update_to_Gtk2 in the mydsl menu. Where should it appear ?

I've retried to re-install the gtk2 package, however from 10 minutes now the dsl menu is all grey with no buttons.

I think you misunderstood the meaning of "MyDSL menu".  You were apparently opening the MyDSL tool and looking there for "Update_to_Gtk2".  Those items are for selecting applications to install.  The "MyDSL menu" menu that was mentioned is a submenu within the Fluxbox or Jwm applications menu (right-click on the desktop) where MyDSL applications show up after they have been installed.

developer suggestion: It might be useful to include a temporary desktop icon with the Gtk2 package, for those who are not accustomed to the Fluxbox/Jwm menu.  This icon would do the same as the menu item, but perhaps remove itself after Gtk2 has been enabled.
