Some, but not all, youtube videos are producing this error when played with MPlayer and VLC from MyDSL 'testing/':
Code Sample
Playing <filename>.flv.
libavformat file format detected.
[flv @ 0xXXXXXXXX]Could not find codec parameters (Audio: 0x0000)

MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: demux_open
- MPlayer crashed by bad usage of CPU/FPU/RAM.
Recompile MPlayer with --enable-debug and make a 'gdb' backtrace and
 disassembly. Details in DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports_what.html#bugreports_crash.
- MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen.
It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read
DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't and
won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible bug.

The affected MyDSL extensions which need to be updated are:
testing/ffmpeg.tar.gz
testing/ffmpeg2theora.tar.gz
testing/mencoder.tar.gz
testing/mm-base.tar.gz
testing/mplayer.tar.gz
testing/vlc.tar.gz

Will probably drop the clunky 'mm-base' extension in favour of just having a shared FFmpeg with a more standard name - probably 'ffmpeg.uci'.
Should take a few weeks to finish and test.
Apologies for the inconvenience in the meantime.

SUGGESTED FIX:
I strongly urge everyone to use JasonW's new 'xine.uci':
MyDSL Extension Browser -> Testing -> xine.uci
or
< xine.uci > [16M] (direct link)

It comes with a more current version of FFmpeg and plays all my Flash (FLV) videos flawlessly.

Yes, this extension works nicely!

Thanks S_I and jpeters for the kind word.  I have reworked the extension with some needed tweaks that were brought to light (fixing the shell wrappers and pruning unneeded dev files). I am going over it with a fine tooth comb before I submit it again.  There is a discussion about an issue with this extension in the Feb. extensions area, and I will put up a link there for what I plan to submit if all is well.

And S_I, I personally have had no problems with your mplayer extension with any of my files.  I like mplayer, and look forward to your next submission.
