Info? What kind of info? It's a button used to install the mydsl packages that have been download by other means besides the mydsl browser. For example: you have the ones in your " myDSL " folder that are loaded at boot but you have some in another folder that you don't use often and just want to load when you need it, you would just highlight it and press the mydsl button and it installs.

oh, im sorry - is there any "documentation" then. Apart from the closed (therefore to-scary-to-use with 2.3) forum link or last paragraph in the pdf's

ps, you forgot about opt and optional but thanks anyway....

There is information on installing myDSL extensions here:

If you are looking for info on the button itself, i dunno what to say....it's an Emelfm button that runs the mydsl-load script on a selected file.  It also includes the command "touch /tmp/emelfm_loaded", which I assume is to prevent some old bug we had relating to desktop icons or something...i don't know for sure.

will the mydsl button work also from the 'opt' folder? can I put the downloaded ones in opt and optional like the mydsl ones

and where the hell is the myDSL folder - yes, i specified it in the bootline but it has not appeared and I havnt read to make it manually??

The first time i installed bootfloppy/usb frugal>hd i was asked by the 'boot prompt install' "Do i want to leave my myDSL folder on the same drive" the same drive as what? i ask while tearing my hair out - it turns out to be the same drive as the install drive, not the same drive as the question immediatly above it. This is where you are probably losing the newbies because with the ramdrive image, if ya' wernt born with it, it's hard to find....

THEN in subsequent mbr & drive formats(4) the 'install' script from bootfloppy/usb frugal failed to ask me about the mydsl folder... I really wanted to get it on hda3  from the install stage...

still looking

You make the "myDSL" folder then put the extensions you want to load in it. It can be put anywere(mine in on usb) the system will do a auto search for it then load the extensions when found.

P.S. The name has to be written myDSL not mydsl,it took me a couple of tries before i realized that.I using the 2.3 ver on some of the older ones it couldn't find the myDSL folder so i had to use the button. :D

beaudy, ta, appreciate that Kerry, its what I needed to hear - sorta.

When you sit down of a day and do 15 usb>frugalhd re-installs with four full mbr& drive formats sticking to the same install and bootloader, do you get inconsistant install too ir is it just me.. ;>)
