I moved the site to a new host over the last day, there have been some hickups.

There may be a few gremlins with the forum too, as I just tared the while thing and moved it over, then just recursively changed the paths.

john, so what host are you on now? i think you may want to update the 'off site' page.

Hostingohio, free hosting for open source projects (this is their server :-).

that's still there...

Yeah, I have to update that page.  Hostingohio just couldn't afford the bandwidth.  I am using tektonic.net which has VPSs for reasonable prices.

There was a sendmail bug which should be gone now.

John why didnt you try sourceforge, just wondering?

Fair enough question, I wanted this project to have its own proper domain, and not be damnsmall.sourceforge.net.  I may try to put some part of the project there later though.

John,

My ISP, like most, gives me 3 users when I signed up.  I get 5mb of diskspace for each user as well.  If you'd like, I will get the info on the user I've never used and you can stick some stuff on that 5mb chunk and make it part of your damnsmall site.  I'm sure that many of the users on this board have unused space available as well.  The internet is for distributed environments, and what better way to use it than to strategically spread pieces of a project around at little or no cost?

For example, you could probably fit unincluded parts of DSL onto a remote site.  Maybe even manage the parts as "Never changes", "Seldom changes", "Known changes- managed by script", "Always changes", etc.

I'll give 5mb.  Let me know and I'll get it set up with my ISP.

Dave

Dbennett, that's nice of you to offer, but this project is becoming quite the bandwidth suck.  Right now the dsl site proper is doing over 10 Gigs transfer a month with the bulk of the downloading being off site in the mirrors.  With the direction the project is going I am expecting this to go up quite a bit.  5MBs can hold a lot of HTML, but that's only a small % of the overall volume.

I can see why you dont want damnsmall.sf.net, but, sourceforge does offer dns services...
