need help on setting partitionsForum: HD Install Topic: need help on setting partitions started by: linuxnoob Posted by linuxnoob on July 28 2004,03:34
I've just started having interest in Linux when I used the Knoppix live distro. I liked the idea of running an OS on a CD without touching the HD so I seeked out other Live distros.I found out about DSL and loved it but it's not enough, I thought. I want to get rid of Windows and install DSL onto my HD to make it my primary OS. I tried following the instructions in the FAQ but I didn't get all the stuff about partitions what exactly do i need to do to create a partition to install DSL? thanks in advance Posted by reveille on July 29 2004,16:24

get utilities boot cd (thank God for bootable cd's)< Ultimate Boot CD > Which will give you options to resize and create partitions...which you can then skip the cfdisk portion...or it will let you at least prepare your partitions to run cfdisk Hope this helps Brian AwPhuch |
