Hi, please can someone advise me on how I can install DSL with the minimum ammount of space posible, then install a few applications (OpenH323GK, OpenGNUGK and PWLib)

Last time I did something like this, it worked ok, but everytime I rebooted the settings went back to standard default settings (Didn't save settings like network info) :(

Please can someone help,

Would be very grateful,

Adrian,

If possible, I would like this to run from a 128mb compact flash card

May I recommend a firewall app called
< SMOOTHWALL >,

It will use the same kind of hardware DSL will use but your box now becomes a dedicated firewall (I helped write the QoS kernel as well), plus the community there is incredible at helping with any problems you may have

Hi, and thanks for your reply.

Will I be able to install apps etc... on it?

Damn, this box has to be in Spain for Friday :(

Far more than I need, I just need a small flavour that will have SSH, FTP and allow me to install OpenH323GK, OpenGNUGK and PWLib - In the world of Linux, I don't think I am asking for too much?

You best read up on the remaster howtos.  This way you will get exactly what you need.  Building from DSL shouldn't be all that hard.

My advice to you is:

If the shoe doesn't fit, learn how to make your own shoes.

See this example for more details:

My boss installed Windows 2000 and the software on a hard drive in the end, I really need to find something that will boot off a flashcard, with the openh323, opengnugk and pwlib (needed for these two apps) also FTP and SSH access,

Just too hard :(

Adrian.
