HelloAdd Man Pages of Partimage, Grub I would like to add the Man Pages of Partimage and Grub to the installation of DamnSmallLinux. These pages should than be included inside that file /mnt/cdrom/knoppix/knoppix, so that on an hard drive installation they were installed automatically. The resulting /mnt/cdrom may be somehow bigger then 50MB. I saw that the hard drive installation has a partly installed MANPATH, so just adding them would help ?or not?. Unfortunatly I do not know how to split up that file /mnt/cdrom/knoppix/knoppix. I guessed that file was a *.gz, but it does not seam to. Any suggestion? In order to use man pages in DSL, you will need to also add the man application and some formatting software (groff, for example). The man app in DSL is not really man...it's a script that accesses online html pages.Editing KNOPPIX requires that you mount it (KNOPPIX is a cloop, or compressed loop, file), copy the contents of the mount point to a writeable location, make your changes, and recreate the cloop. Search the forums for "remastering" to get more info. If you just want to add files to the CD, you can do that with the mkmydsl script. |
