Do I need a new partition to backup Frugal?

I frugal installed DSL to a 512 MB CF card with only one partition.

Now I seems that there is nowhere for me to backup my settings unless I use a thumbdrive?  Well... I can't, so what are my options?  Create a new partition?  And how?  Do I start all over?

ps- somewhere in the frugal documentation this should be made clear to newbies so they don't bang their heads against the wall looking for a local place to store their customization.

ADMINISTRATORS: Please link to these documents in both the FAQ and the WIKI.  Please.  It should take you just a moment and it will save yourselves from having to repeatedly answer alot of the same newbie questions again and again.
