Hi Everyone,

I know this has been raised before, but I can't seem to get it right, after reading up.

I set up my frugal install as per the PDF instructions, but cannot get mydsl programs to go into the hda4 partition (root) that I specified as the mydsl directory. opt/ works as it should, but I want to have some of these load up (at least as icons) at start.

I have looked at the menu.lst in /cdrom/boot/grub and edited, and the lilo.conf file to add the relevent mydsl=hda4 line, but if I type in the target mnt/hda4/ in the mydsl download box, it just ends up downloading to mnt/hda4/home/dsl, where it does not auto-load and does get added to the backup, not what I want at all.

I tried to set up a mydsl subdirectory in the mnt/hda4/home/dsl directory, but the download always gives in a "mount the optional folder" type error message when I do. (Actually, I did get THAT to work by typing in mydsl/ in the download box, but rereading one of Robert's posts, I shouldn't have it there anyways!)

Any ideas where to look, change?

Thanks, Greg

BTW: I think DSL is using Lilo to boot, not grub

You could try and manually edit the location by typing:

sudo beaver /opt/.mydsl_dir

in a terminal window and then change the directory as desired.
