Hi all,
I continue my great research on this linux-thingh, and again have something impossible in mind.
3 different OS on 1 HDD means 5 partitions as I understand. Now one linux works well with windows, but two kill each other. Namely I tried DSL frugal install and Kubuntu + windows.
Kubuntu+windows works, DSL+windows works, Kubuntu+DSL=game over.
Please someone help me- I did partitions as found in help files (2 for DSL and 2 for Kubuntu+left the windows as it was).
Please adwise on making the proper partitions (20Gb HDD), giving them to the respective OS and finally configuring grub that all can be booted. Also the proper sequence of installing the OSs.
Thank you.
I know, it was written thousand times, but it is buried in thousend pages of forum.

1 : Windows partition 10Gb (hda1)
2: Linux Swap .5 Gb (hda2)
3: DSL part 3.5 Gb (hda3)
4: kubuntu part 6Gb (hda4)

Intall like Windows, DSL, then Kubuntu. Just keep all the stuff (home partitions etc) on the same partition.
Configure Lilo accordingly... Lilo guides available al over the net.. no thousand pages install.

I guess you have grub boot loader which comes with kubuntu. I suggest intalling windows first then kubuntu. If mswin+kubu works well together, you should make frugal install of DSL. Do not install the grub loader with DSL again. Edit /boot/grub/menu.list of kubuntu by hand.
Partitons I recomend:
1 : Windows partition 10Gb (hda1)
2: Linux Swap 450 Mb (hda2)
3: DSL frugal 50 Mb (hda3)
4: DSL part 1.5 Gb (hda4) /home /opt
5: kubuntu part 8 Gb (hda5)

Something like this works fine for me without windows, but ubuntu + dsl frugal
Come back if need more help...  :)
