I've searched for over a day in here and via google and can't seem to find a straightforward answer.  Please bear with me.....

Problem: I have an old laptop, pentium, 32M ram, 1.5G hd, *no CD*, just the 1.4mb floppy drive and PC Card slots.  It has a version of Windows installed (95 or 98?).

I'd like to try DSL by downloading an image and put it on a floppy.  Honestly I haven't touched a floppy in years and have no idea how to create it so that it (a) boots (the BIOS goes to floppy first by default) and (b) fires up DSL rather than Windows.

I feel like an idiot.  -Matt

P.S. Once DSL is up and running, I'll be able to re-partition and install to HD, right?

Hi,
for win/dos you can use rawrite.exe (amongst others?!) to create a boot floppy. It's really easy! I did it this way often.

Greats, Christoph

Do it if you can transfer files to your computer.
