Rather new to DSL but I like what I see. Congrats to all involved.
I've done a Grub-Frugal-Install of DSL 2.2rc1. It all worked well. After playing around with it for a day or so I noticed I didn't have any sound. Honestly, I didn't have the speakers powered on so I didn't think much about it.
Then I tried playing an mp3 file with xmms. I could see the slider bar marking time and the graphic bars jumping up and down but no sound came out. The volume knob was in the middle so I thought I should hear something. Yes... the speakers were on.
Bottom line... As soon as I move the volume knob, just a hair. I have sound. Xmms plays fine. If I close xmms and reopen it, I have sound right from the start. If I reboot the system, I have to go through the process of starting xmms and nudging the volume knob.
I've tried moving the dMix volume knobs to see if they do the same as xmms but they don't. I've tried running mpg123 at startup but that doesn't make any sound.
It's really more of an annoyance then a problem but if someone knows a solution, I'd be happier.
Here's some info from the System Stats:
