NON DSL USER error

Hello all,

long time winders user here looking for something new...

ive installed DSL onto the HD of my old laptop and for some reason i am unable to us myDSL to install new apps/packages

after hitting download the second time, it throws up an error stating "NON DSL USER error"

i know that it install to the drive as dabian but what direction should i go in to get, say, SAMBA installed on this machine?

For myDSL packages, you must be logged in as user "dsl".  This is because the myDSL packages install icon and menu item specifically for this user....installing as another user will break some files needed by user dsl.

If you really must install as root, you can try untaring the package in /
This will work for some packages, but there are others that may not install properly this way
