i do a fresh cfdisk to the wholedisk - hda1 (fat32 winxp), hda2 (linux ext2), hda3 swap, hda4 (linux ext2), then mke2fs hda2 & 4.

I then do a "s" hd-install to hda2 with "No" to "multilogin" and "ext3", then "yes" to lilo. Reboot, enter secure grade password, then do s "sudo mount -n -o remount,rw /", then set everything up, is fine.

The prblem is when I go for a reinstall - everthing the same but ndiswrapper reports

driver installed but "hardware not present".

If this is a symtom of something i am not, mis, or incorrectly doing pls advise.

ps... everything work fine off liveCD

ok!!!, WHO fixed it while i duked out for a stress-smoke????

I enteered linux mydsl=hda2 restore=hda4 ( i had backed-up to that hd)
While booting it reports "cant find hda4, hda4 not a valid block device, not going to restore, press 'enter' to continue.' I continued and from previous post all hardware installed.

When reboot it reported sam 'hda4 not a vailid' etc... so on the next boot i entered linux mdsl=hda2 and is all fine now...
