I have an old Pentium Pro 200 and I am running DLS 2.2b with a floppy boot. I would like to do a frugal install. It has 2 disk drives. /dev/hda and /dev/hdc. (no hdb).
hda1 has Win ME and I want to keep it there.
I read the howto and it stated that the frugal install MUST be on /dev/hda. Is this true?

Thank you for your help!

I don't believe it needs to be.  Perhaps that's the only way to install it using the frugal install script, but it obviously will still work on other partitions considering the same frugal system can be setup on a pendrive or run from a virtual drive.
The one thing I'd be cautious about is how the bootloader is installed...it may need to be installed and configured manually if you can't use the install script.

I did the frugal install with grub. Eveything looked good. It asked if I had windows on hda1 and I said yes.

When I boot, it goes right into Win ME. Any help will be appreciated!
