ok, so i have a 100mhz 16mb ram laptop on which i did an hd install using some slack disks.

hda1 +75M
hda2 +75M
hda4 (all the rest of a 800mb drive)

so it took about 13 minutes to boot to a point where i was in X and could move my mouse and be at a 6% cpu usage.

I thought DSL would be the distro im looking for.. How can i slim it down so i still have X and its programs, but its not so bloody slow.

what can i do? This machine supported win 9x pretty good

Is one of your partitions mounted as swap? Otherwise I bet it's too slow!

If you use the 'bloated' Fluxbox, switch to jwm
