Hi
After trying around about 6hours to get DSL to work on a USB harddisk (at least i learned how to use cfdisk ) im tired now. Could someone please write me a step by step install guide (or a link to one)? But please tell me every single step i donīt know much about linux but i need to set this up!
I had  my usb harddisk, made  a swap partition sda1 and a linux partition sda2 and installed DSL normally on them. After i was finished and rebooted, LiLo didnt load, it just showed the letter L.
I think i need a special Initrd to boot using a usb harddisk.
So please tell me how all this works :)

Most traditional hd installs don't use a initrd.  They read directly off of the root partition.

Maybe you should try a frugal grub installation but to your USB hard drive instead of a regular IDE hard drive.
