I have tried both down loading the ISO image and buying a min cd version(in case the down load was corrupt) but both give me the same problem.

When I try to boot from the cd the PC doesnt get beyond the first two messages before it hangs. I know th epc will run DSL because I have run it "inside" xp but thats not the point. I want to evaluate DSL running as a stand alone os.

Can anyone pleasegive me some pointers as to what to tweak / check to get DSL boot straight from cd ?

TIA

Peter ???

- Check if md5summed and the checksums match to know if the ISO file was corrupted during the download process. < Getting DSL From the Mirrors >
- Remember that a ISO image can't be copied directly to CD as other files. The option like to "Create a new data CD" or "Create a CD from an ISO image" must be set before burnning the CD.
- Some computers have difficulty booting from a cd-rw disk. If you have problems, it is suggested that you burn DSL to a CD-R disk instead of a CD-RW disk.
