hi i would like to know how to create a swap partition on linux... (128mb or something) because when i open something big (like a big picture) my system locks up and i can see that my 32mb has been used... so how do i make a swap partitino

So you have a HD then?  If you have free/open space, you can use cfdisk to create a swap partition.

If your drive is full, it is possible to use parted to shrink a partition, but you can't be using the partition when you do it.  Last time I did that was from a Knoppix CD, and shrank a 80g partition to 10g without issues.
