Hello,

I have a frugal install on hda1 with parameters toram dma

I have copied my .unc extensions to hda1 which also holds my DSL 3.0 image.

But my .unc extensions fail to load. i.e. it does not find them during the booting process.

I thought all I had to do to get these to autoload was to copy them to my root directory.

I thought I didnt have to specify a mydsl directory if they are in the root.

I'm sure this used to work in a previous version I tried...

Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong?

Nothing. This is normal behaviour.
Using the toram option is not compatible with uci or unc mountable type extensions. When using the toram option the boot device no longer is the physical device on which reside your extenions. Instead the bootdevice become /dev/shm. Do a mount command and you shall see the mount point /cdrom is on device /dev/shm and not your /dev/hda1

You could mount /dev/hda1 and then use the mydsl tool to load them or move them to a non boot device.

Ahh, thanks.

What a shame.

How about adding code that scans the boot image source drive for extensions then adds them into the ramdisk image as links so that when it does the scan for extensions it will find the links and load them from the original boot drive?

So behaviour for toram and livecd mode would effectively be the same.

Just a suggestion. Hope you understand what I mean.

Thanks for your reply and explanation.
