With my new kid, I do not really having the hours like back in the days to find answers that are probably here somewhere. So I was hoping someone could help me.

I did a frugal HDD install and it works. But when starting I get prompted a couple of boot options which should be defined in some file? (vga, language and some others). My ultimate goal is just to turn the computer on and play a 10000 song playlist. Can somebody help me get there? In the end I do not have a monitor or keyboard, just want to turn on the little barebone, have a fast boot (no need for hw discovery or network - as I see these are bootoptions, too) and play my playlist.

Thank you,

Alex

I think we can get both of these issues solved rather easily, but probably best to concentrate on one problem to start with.

I'm not sure I follow your statement "I get prompted a couple of boot options which should be defined".  DSL is telling you something? Can you please post what it's asking for?
The "some file" is your bootloader's config file, which depends on whether you are using grub or lilo.  Either one will be found in /cdrom/boot, where "/cdrom" is the partition on which KNOPPIX is installed.

I have no access to my DSL right now but I remember stuff like vga settings and language option (language though was prompted during frugal install), altogether 4-5 prompts .... I do not get the desktop after booting like I did booting from the LiveCD.
