Hi, can somebody help me please ? The thing is that I have installed the HD install with this config :

hda 5 : FAT32 containing a KNOPPIX directory, and dsl-3.0.iso
hda6 : ext2 partition where the system is installed. (bootable)
hda7 : swap space
hda8 : ext2 DATA space.

When I get at GRUB, none of the 4 options of boot works.

The error says :
Booting 'DSL'

kernel/boot/linux24 root=/dev/hda6 quiet vga=normal noacpi noapm noscsi

Error 15 : File not found

Press any key to continue . . .
-------------------------------------------------

I assume that something in the grub boot line is wrong, but I can't figure out what's it. Can you please give me a hand with this ?  Thank you. Otherways, would somebody tell me how to TOTALLY erase GRUB from the disk ?  I'd erased all the partitions and GRUB does not disappear ! ( I want to try this too maybe to do a clean install again. Thanks a lot.

Problem has finished. The solution was to install it using the dsl-3.0-syslinux.iso instead of the normal one. Thank you.

Thanks for taking the time to post your solution.  That was exactly what I needed to know.  I couldn't get a HD install to work in Virutal PC.  Booting the syslinux cd fixed it.

Thanks.
