Ok, this is probably a bit of an odd one, given that I've eaten too many gummy bears and drank far too much coffee..

I really like DSL, it's certainly been the best distro that works out-of-the-box on my fairly ancient laptop, but there are certain things that irk me about it and so far no amount of google and forum-crawling has resolved these (perhaps I should be editing my 'Don't Despair! topic?!)..
Anyway, I've now come to the conclusion that I'd really like to give debian-proper a go - I've used it a bit in the past on a hard-wired (ethernet) computer and it genuinly did everything I asked of it and with ease. It does have a major flaw however, in that install is only via DVD (no drive on my laptop) CD (have you tried to download 20-odd CD's?) or Netinstall (wireless unsupported) - so, here comes the big question.. Since DSL is debian based and includes an option to use apt-get AND I can get my wireless card to work under it - is there a way to install debian 'proper' using DSL? I'm not talking the apt-get upgrade route here, which leaves me with an unstable version of DSL.. I'll try and explain what I mean.. I'd like to be able to install the packages I want onto a clean debian system and ONLY the packages I want.. Basically I'd like to use DSL to somehow commence a clean debian install if possible? Perhaps I should reply to this, or edit when cafine has left my system..! Sorry for the slightly rambling nature of this post, but if anyone can explain to me how I achieve what I'd like to achieve, then I really would be most grateful!
Cheers!

Appologies for the wittering above. Heres a simplified question now that I've calmed down from the sugar..

Does DSL ship with debootstrap and if so, are there any instructions on using it with DSL?

Thanks,
Tim
