Using DSL on VirtualPC

I've just been trying out DSL on VirtualPC to see what it was like. I had no problem starting it as a live CD after I captured the CD iso, but when I tried to install it to the HD within X (the option in the menu) it wouldn't work. I also tried starting cfdisk, but that wouldn't work either.

Later on, I tried copying DSL to /dev/hda1 using a boot option (this is while I was still in VirtualPC), but it said that "/dev/hda1 is not mountable".

Has anyone had this problem before and does anyone know how to fix it?

You have to partition the hard drive first, then format it.

Try "sudo cfdisk" for partitioning.

Cheers. I already knew about cfdisk - it's my favourite partitioning tool. I use it for both Windows and Linux systems. However, I didn't realise I needed the 'sudo' command on DSL for it to work.
