Auto mount seems to stop working once HD-Install happens. Any way to turn it back on or remove it from the system?

automount has never worked in any DSL system, as far as i know.  It's not there.

Are you sure, cause the boot messages list starting auto-mount for cd and floppy. And fstab reflects that.

But, I just figured last night that auto-mount is a boot time only thing, like how the cd is automatticly mounted when booting from disk to ram.

I know there is reference to automount in knoppix-autoconfig (a script taken from Knoppix), but the application itself has been removed.

If you're running a liveCD, the CD has to be auto mounted so you can boot the system, but that's not done by automount.

fstab lists all mountable devices that were detected during boot.  It's not telling you what has been mounted.  Mounted devices are listed in mtab.
