hello from germany...

i have here some problem with shutdown of dsl 3.01 (hd install). every time, after a shutdown or reboot, when the system starts again, it prompts me with fsck for /dev/hda1. after checking and rpairing the filesystem and reboot, dsl starts fine. this is not a hardware problem. i have found out that this behavior is going since some changes at my /opt/bootlocal.

i have added this two lines (i hope i remember coorectly):
Code Sample
zic Europe/Berlin
hwclock

this is to set the timezone to Europe/Berlin. When i start the system with this lines, it cant umount /dev/hda1 properly, it says, that he is trying /dev/hda1 instead... After removing this lines, the system works fine as before, so i think, that my timezone-changes are the problem.

but i need a correct date/timezone/localtime. Is there any other way to setup the timezone correctly without the shutdown problems ? is there a logfile about the shutdown or something, where i can test the behavior of such changes ?

Any ideas for this problem ?

meanwhile i have made deleted /etc/localtime and made a linkt from /usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Berlin to /etc/localtime, but when i now syncronize my time via ntp and a regular timeserver on the net, it gives me a offset from 4 hourse... the localtime is 19:00 (7:00pm) but when i synchronize it gives me 15:00 (3:00 pm)...

whats wrong ?

Are there any other scripts to set the time and timezoneinformation ?
