"No space left on device" probably means that you've run out of ram, or harddisk space, or both.  Perhaps you didn't create a usable ext2 partition?

there is no partition on the disc. do i need to create root and swap? i thought it would be created during install like every other linux install does :)

edit: created partitions, same problem.

just fyi, you also need to partition and format your hard drive in order to install windows.

About your error, it probably printed out that after writing to the device to restart... and I'm guessing it worked after you did.

Try changing around the mouse settings with xsetup.sh

Newer ones I think are usb.. older are ps2?

You can boot with "dsl xsetup"
or run xsetup.sh in a tty (if you are already in X, kill it by ctrl+alt+bkspace, then type that, then type startx)
