Hello-

I've searched the forums and I haven't found exactly what I'm looking for. I have a HD install of DSL. I've acquired all the apps I want and tweaked Fluxbox to my liking. At this point I would like to remaster DSL so I can have all of my apps, setting, etc on my own live CD. I don't care about size.
How do I go about doing this? I figure that this CD would also serve as a system backup should I ever need to reinstall DSL. Thanks for any help.

I'm looking for the same kind of solution. some way of restoring the current harddrive install with all cron schedules and scripts etc...

You have probably seen < Meo's remaster post >

There is a part where the Knoppix is mounted:

#mount --bind /dev /mnt/hda3/KNOPPIX/dev

When you have it mounted just copy your directories to it and see if it works.  When I did a remaster I only copied a few icons and backgrounds into /etc and they show up.  I don't know if that will work for you.
