I have an old notebook toshiba libretto p120mmx 16ram 2gb hdd
This notebook does not have floppy and cd, so to install any OS i need to connect HDD to another pc or notebook. So i connect it to my another laptop - p3 700mhz 256 ram and install DSL there. After i put my hdd back to my libretto the system does not boots. I see the kernel panic message. I think that my toshiba does not have enouth ram. What to do?

PS uname -a says that i am using i686 kernel, but i need 386
Help me plz

PPS the last message is - <1> Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual addreaa 236892b4

.....

Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!
Ininterrupt handler - not syncing

and if i try to boot again - it hangs when fsck is chekicking my disk at 15%.
