GRUB issues with Frugal InstallForum: HD Install Topic: GRUB issues with Frugal Install started by: PoiseAndArrows Posted by PoiseAndArrows on Mar. 02 2007,20:35
I've done a frugal install and I need a specific "cheat code" passed to DSL every time it boots, but of course, menu.lst is read-only. I've been getting a little tired of doing the edit when the GRUB menu pops up EVERY TIME I boot.Is there anything I can do about this? Posted by roberts on Mar. 02 2007,21:11
frugal install means as root edit the menu.lst at/cdrom/boot/grub/menu.lst If you booted frugal with the toram option then mount the device, say it is hda2 then edit /mnt/hda2/boot/grub/menu.lst For frugal installs it is not the one located at /boot/grub/menu.lst |
