Hello! I´ve installed damn small linux N 0.1 rc4 from a free CD. After reading lots of tips in ´some forums I got it on HD. After starting from HD Grub comes up and after  choosing DSL to start it comes the Error 15: File not found. In the startline I can read "kernel /boot/linux root=/dev/hda2 ramdisk_size=100000 init=/etc/init quiet vga=normal nomce apm=power-off noprompt noeject frugal"
HDA2 ist the Linux-partition.
I´m a absolut linux beginner, and I´ve no idea what to do to get start the damn from hd.
Sorry about my bad english, but hope You can understand !?
Regards and Thanks for help!

Hello again!
After surching for the problem I found out that there is a path named "/boot" on hda2 but under this there is no other path named "linux". There is only path "/boot/grub". (changing grub start line to this path I got the same error. In the path /boot there are 2 files. (system.map and system.map-2.6.11)
Has someone any solution what to do??
Thanks

wow. There's no kernel. Your install didn't work, try copying "linux" from the cd's boot dir...

Hello!
Thanks for Your answer. How can it be?- I´ve installed from a live-CD.- After booting DAMN from CD there is a routine on workplace to install on Harddisc. I used this one to install.
Can You explain a little bit detailed what to do now?- I´ve no linux skill.
The situation is in the moment:
I can start DAMN from Live-CD. I can mount HDA2. On HDA2 I can see that the instal-routine has installed lot of paths and files.
If I boot without CD than GRUB starts. When I tried to start the DSL-Option I got the message "Error 15: File no found.
(The Start-Line is like told before)
Sorry about my english, hope You can understand me!?
Thanks!!!!

I get you Very Well. Here's more detail:

Boot Livecd, mount hda2.
Start Aterm, type
Quote
sudo su
cd /cdrom
ls

you should see something like "boot KNOPPIX index.html"
Quote
cd boot
ls
See? There are the boot files, including the kernel. Just copy it to /mnt/hda2/boot with
Quote
cp linux /mnt/hda2/boot

Thanks for Your Tips. I´m sorry but I´ve to ask again.- On CD I found the following:
boot/knoppix/
But there is only a path "i386/" and a file directory.yast in it.

I've no idea about what's going on.... Could you boot using toram code and then mount the cd?
If the files still aren't there, maybe you got a corrupted iso...

Hello! Thanks for Your answer. I´m sorry but Start from Live-CD as option "to ram" don´t work. I thinks the reason is the graphic-resolution!? Starting from the Live-CD only works as 800x600 option.

Hello! I´ve tried something new. - Got new´st ISO-File and burned a new Boot-CD. Starting system with CD well. Making hda2+hda5 on Harddisc. hda5 is swap. After booting system again I tried to mount hda2 but I got the error-message "Error: mount: relocation error: mount: undefined symbol:blkid_known_fstype". Try to install.- Yes it starts from HD!! It seems that there are some new problems, but for now it´s OK!
